About Harold Harris

Harold Harris is a renowned musician who has spent the last 30 years of his life working at My Old Man’s Record Store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is well-known for his eclectic musical tastes and knowledge of music spanning all genres and decades.

Harris was born and raised in South Philly, where he developed an early love of music from his parents and their record collection. By the age of 10, Harris was already playing instruments and writing songs with friends, honing his talent to become the great musician he is today.

At 18, Harris moved to Philadelphia for college but continued pursuing music during this time. He found himself at My Old Man’s Record Store, where he quickly rose through the ranks as an employee. After two years there, Harris became the store manager and has held that position ever since, making him one of the most knowledgeable authorities on music in Philadelphia.

Harris also remains active as a performer on weekends, playing gigs at various venues across town with some of the biggest names in jazz and R&B. His deep understanding of multiple genres makes him a sought-after collaborator by musicians looking for fresh input and ideas on their own projects.

Harold Harris is known throughout Philadelphia for his immense talent as a musician, as well as for being an incredible asset to My Old Man’s Record Store since its inception over three decades ago.

Harris’s passion for music has also allowed him to mentor young musicians in the area. He frequently takes time out of his busy schedule to offer advice and critiques to aspiring artists, helping them become the best they can be. Harris also runs an open mic night at My Old Man’s Record Store every month, giving these up-and-coming performers a chance to show off their talents and gain exposure.

Today, Harris is still an active performer and manager at My Old Man’s Record Store, bringing joy to both musicians and music lovers in Philadelphia.
